Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actor, model and entrepreneur. Most famous for playing Emily Fields, she is an actress and model on the Freeform TV show Pretty Little Liars. After her accomplishments with modeling, dance and acting she began to study acting. Mitchell was able to land several commercials as well as appeared in guest roles on TV series prior to landing her debut role in the role of Emily Fields. Critics and fans praised her acting skills. She then went on to make a mark on the screen, through films such as the DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. The actress starred in the The psychological thriller 'You', which earned more attention. She is the author of an adult-oriented novel titled Bliss which she co-wrote with Michaela Blaney. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario with her parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. Shay Mitchell was born on 10th April, 1987. She's of Filipina descent, and her father has Scottish/Irish roots. Her cousin, Mitchell is Lea Salonga who is a well-known musical theater singer and actress. As a child, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary before transferring to the West Vancouver Secondary School. In her late teen years Mitchell been employed by various modeling firms all over the world. She travelled across the world to Barcelona Bangkok Hong Kong before eventually returning to her home country and studying modeling in Toronto.
